HISTORY OF VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES

LACKAWANNA COUNTY

Scranton author and historian Joseph M. Klapatch has penned four books as part of a collection he is putting together on the histories of several Lackawanna County fire departments. Joe's research projects extend back to the days of horse-drawn fire wagons during the mid-1800’s. His series includes History of the Carbondale Fire Department 1843-2015; The Scranton Fire Departement 1854-Present including Minooka Hose Co.; The Boys from Bucktown The History of the Dunmore PA Fire Department; Volunteers of the Valley Volume I Fire Department Histories of Dickson City PA, Olyphant PA, Throop PA. His very first book penned in 2015 achieved great success by documenting The History of Carbondale, PA Fire Department 1843-2015". Congratulations are extended to Joe Klapatch, my friend.
